Equitable Development Initiative 2025 Request for Proposals Now Open!

Visit our website to learn how to apply. Applications are due September 29, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

The EDI supports neighborhoods by fostering community leadership and funding projects that advance economic mobility, prevent displacement, build on local cultural assets, and develop healthy, connected, and safe communities. EDI works to ensure that public and private investments address past inequities, meet current community needs, and create opportunities for future growth. This program, guided by the City’s Equitable Development Framework, allocates over $20 million annually to projects and organizations addressing displacement and promoting equitable access to housing, jobs, education, parks, cultural expression, healthy food and other community needs and amenities.

This year we will continue to fund existing EDI projects to close gaps and help projects enter operations. We will also fund new projects for both capacity building and capital. Make sure to pay attention to the funding guidelines as they have shifted from prior funding rounds.

For the first time, EDI will offer technical assistance support for applicants. You may access the technical assistant support through the RFP guidance document. Grantees may, but are not required to, attend an information session or work with their project manager to answer RFP questions. Any questions must be submitted by September 15 and responses will be posted on the EDI website on September 18.
